A Room for Romeo Brass
Opening Credits
The opening credits of a room for romeo brass has a unique font as the credits are on a black background, which shows the importance of the characters in the film. The soundtrack used sets the feel of the film, the volume was loud on credits and in background when action occured which was effective for the audiences viewing, there was a merging of narrative and credits, the credits was used to break up the action and to involve the audience more in the story, by making them wait and see what happens next. The credits gave us an introduction to the characters and the mini storyline which was started and completed. We were given clues about the genre, it was showing as a real life movie which the audience could relate to, it had elements of a comedy drama. The locations which we see in the opening credits look like local locations and an urban and countryside setting.
Narrative Summary
The narrative summary shows that Romeo and Gavin are growing apart because of Morrell who begins to befriend the boys by helping them and then he starts becoming infaturated with ladine which leads to him becoming violent and threatens Gavin. Romeo`s father is back in his life again but Romeo doesn`t get on with him which leads to romeo leaning to Morrell for protection against his father. The audince fears that Morrell is going to flip as he becomes increasingly attracted to Ladine. The audience want to see Gavin and Romeo reunited.
How the film sustains audience interest
I feel that the film is able to sustain the interest of the audience because people may be able to relate to not only the characters but also the situation which is happening and the way that Morrells behaviour is affecting everyone around him, this might make people look at there own life and reflect on their own actions. The film is family orientated, it involves everyday life situations where everyone can relate to the themes which have unexpected twists which may happen in peoples lifes from time to time.
